New Delhi [India], January 30 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party candidate from the Jangpura assembly constituency, Manish Sisodia, on Tuesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Haryana of being responsible for the deteriorating water quality in the Yamuna River.
Asking BJP to take accountability of the issue, Sisodia questioned why BJP is trying to feed poisonous water to Delhi residents.
"The poisonous water is coming from Haryana to Delhi. BJP should come forward and take responsibility for the issue (Yamuna River issue)...as they have their government in Haryana... Why are they trying to feed poisonous water to the people of Delhi? Sisodia told ANI.
Earlier, Delhi Minister and AAP candidate from the Greater Kailash Assembly seat, Saurabh Bharadwaj, also challenged Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to drink water from drain number 6, which is allegedly releasing toxic industrial waste into the Yamuna River.

Meanwhile, Sisodia, along with Samajwadi Party MP Iqra Hasan, visited Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah in Delhi on Thursday.
The former Delhi Deputy CM highlighted the works done by AAP government in Delhi, and also emphasised that Samajwadi Party is supporting the party in the Delhi elections.
"AAP has worked for the people of Delhi...On one hand, there are people who have looted the people of Delhi and on the other hand, we are there who have given medical, education and several other facilities to the people...The Samajwadi Party is supporting the AAP party and Akhilesh Yadav is doing rallies with Arvind Kejriwal," he said.
SP leader Iqra Hasan also slammed the Uttar Pradesh government over the Maha Kumbh stampede, alleging poor crowd management.
Speaking with ANI, Hasan said, "The government should take responsibility for the incident that took place...There were no proper arrangements for the crowd that arrived there...The government always runs away from their responsibilities."
As the assembly elections inch closer, the poll battle in the national capital has also intensified, with the three parties--AAP, BJP, and Congress--levelling allegations against each other.
Delhi will go for polls in a single phase on February 5, while the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
The Congress, which was in power for 15 consecutive years in Delhi, has suffered setbacks in the last two assembly elections and has failed to win any seat. In contrast, the AAP dominated the 2020 assembly elections by winning 62 out of 70 seats while the BJP got only eight seats. (ANI)
