New Delhi [India], January 16 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party's national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party-led centre government on Thursday, claiming that the "double engine" government of the party has failed in all the states they rule in.
Her comments come after AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal criticised both the centre-led BJP and Maharashtra BJP after an attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan occurred at his residence.
"Why such a murder of politician Baba Siddique happens, why attacks on actors and celebrities keep happening, like Salman Khan get attacked repeatedly and there is a firing on his residence, how such a famous actor like Saif Ali Khan gets attacked. Why has BJP's double engine government failed in maintaining law and order, whatever state they are in, whether in Maharashtra or somewhere else," Kakkar said during a press conference.
The AAP spokesperson also hit out at BJP's Ravi Shankar Prasad for 'repeating the same old accusations' on Delhi's liquor policy alleged scam.
"We did not get any answers, but instead party's leader Ravi Shankar Prasad does a press conference and repeats the same old accusations. In the liquor policy case our leaders were put in jail, and the investigation is ongoing right? Everyone saw what Supreme Court said about the case...you let the investigation go on, but also reply on how on the subject of law and order you cannot guarantee safety of people," she said.
Earlier today in a BJP press conference Ravi Shankar Prasad alleged that AAP wants to bring back the liquor policy, which is currently being investigated by central agencies for alleged corruption.
"The Delhi Chief Minister (Atishi) has said that they will bring back the liquor policy if elected to power. The party which supported Anna Hazare's ideals now has their first priority as liquor, never seen such a thing. They have not submitted the CAG report in Vidhan Sabha. There is sanction, and permission for prosecution too, but after all that what is the pressure on them by liquor vendors?," BJP's Prasad asked.
Meanwhile the AAP chief launched a blistering attack on the BJP-led Central and Maharashtra government, citing that the party's double engine government is incapable of providing security to the nation. This follows the recent attack on a Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence.
Kejriwal said, "This morning we got the shocking news that Saif Ali Khan was stabbed by unknown people. He is currently undergoing treatment. I pray that he gets well soon but it is a matter of concern that such a big actor who lives in such a safe place is attacked in his house in this manner, this raises questions on the state and central government."
Mentioning other incidents, he added, "Earlier Salman Khan was attacked; Baba Siddiqui was killed. If the BJP's double-engine government cannot provide security to such big celebrities, then what about the common people?..."(ANI)
