Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 10 (ANI): After the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu was sent to 14 days of judicial custody, Congress leader Surendra Rajput has questioned the timing of Naidu's arrest, which coincided with the elections.
Surendra Rajput told ANI, “The politics of revenge that is being witnessed in Delhi has also started in the states where Congress is not in power. Why Naidu was arrested at the time of the elections? Do you consider your opponents as your enemies? Arresting a leader suddenly like this is a matter of political vendetta.”
TDP Chief Naidu was produced before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Vijayawada in connection with an alleged Skill Development Corporation scam on Sunday early morning.
According to the officials, the former CM was produced before the court within 24 hours of his arrest.
Earlier today, TDP chief was sent to 14 days judicial custody in connection with an alleged Skill Development Corporation scam.
Vijayawada ACB court Judge Himabindu read out the judgment on former CM Chandrababu's case.
The judge ordered the remand of Naidu for 14 days to judicial custody and suggested to take former CM to Rajahmundry central jail.
Earlier on Sunday morning, Naidu was produced before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Vijayawada in connection with an alleged Skill Development Corporation scam.
According to the officials, the former CM was produced before the court within 24 hours of his arrest.
On Saturday, Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection to an alleged corruption case.
According to officials, the case pertains to the establishment of clusters of Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in the state of Andhra Pradesh, with a total estimated project value of Rs 3300 crore.
On the G20 summit, Surendra Rajput said, “This year we are leading the G20, all these things make every Indian feel proud. Every Indian also felt proud when Indira Gandhi welcomed more than 100 national leaders in the non-aligned movement in 1983. Whenever the head of state of any nation comes, bilateral talks take place and the discussions that take place to move ahead should always be welcomed.”
