"Who are they seeking 'Nyay' for": BJP's K Laxman jibes at Congress over Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], January 14 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP K Laxman on Sunday took a jibe at Congress as party leader Rahul Gandhi kicked off 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' and asked who the grand old party was seeking justice for.
Speaking to ANI, the BJP leader said that the Congress Party is doing yatra only to come back to the power after being ousted from power 'democratically'.
"Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is beginning from Manipur today. Yatra is good for his health but who are they seeking 'Nyay' for?...Under the leadership of PM Modi, there is rapid development in the country. They are unable to tolerate it. The 140 crore population of the country is with PM Modi...They (Congress) were rejected democratically. They are doing this Yatra to come back to power but this is politics and nothing else..." K Laxman said.
Gandhi on Sunday embarked on the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Thoubal in Manipur with a promise to bring peace and harmony in the ethnic violence-hit state.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders have boarded the bus which will accompany the yatra for the coming 66 days.
The unrest that erupted in the northeastern state in May of the previous year has resulted in the loss of over 180 lives and displaced thousands of people.
Addressing a public meeting in Thoubal, which is south of Manipur capital Imphal, Gandhi also hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying perhaps for the BJP and the RSS, Manipur was not a part of India.

"We understand the pain that the people of Manipur have been through, we understand the hurt, the sadness. We will bring back harmony, peace and affection for which this state was known," he said.
The yatra began at noon from the Khongjom War Memorial. It will cover a distance of 6,713 km, straddling 100 Lok Sabha constituencies and 337 assembly segments and covering 110 districts. The yatra will conclude in Mumbai on March 20 after 67 days.
A follow-up to the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' which saw Rahul Gandhi cover more than 3,000 kilometres on foot - from Kanya Kumari to Srinagar--the latest campaign, Bharat Jodo Yatra 2.0, will be a hybrid one. (ANI)
