New Delhi [India], July 28 (ANI): After Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's remarks on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, Independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav, launched a scathing attack on the Central government, questioning the country's internal security and foreign policy.
Speaking to ANI, Yadav raised concerns over the government's failure to apprehend the terrorists behind the recent Pahalgam attack and criticised its silence on China's growing involvement in regional tensions.
He alleged that despite the abrogation of Article 370, Kashmir continues to remain unsafe and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of lacking a comprehensive approach to national and foreign policy beyond symbolic moves.
"Where are the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terrorist attack? If we haven't been able to catch them in the last 1 month, it means the country is not in safe hands. Pakistan cannot stand against our 100 soldiers, but the question is that China, which has new technology and is supporting Pakistan in the way it is, we are not even talking about it," stated Pappu Yadav.
"The truth was nowhere to be seen. One should have the courage to speak the truth. On the question of the country and foreign policy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not been successful. In all these days, apart from Article 370, they have had no issues, and even after the removal of Article 370, attacks have happened, and Kashmir has remained unsafe," he added.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Gaurav Gogai hit out at the BJP-led government on Monday over the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir and said it has been over 100 days since the horrendous April 22 incident but the government "hasn't been able to catch those five terrorists" who carried out the terror attack in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed.
Participating in the debate on 'India's strong, successful and decisive Operation Sindoor in response to terrorist attack in Pahalgam' in Lok Sabha, Gogoi slammed the government for stopping Operation Sindoor after Pakistan capitulated and asked why it did not go further and reclaim the territory illegally occupied by the neighbouring country. Gogoi spoke immediately after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who initiated the debate.
"It has been 100 days since the Pahalgam attack took place, but this Govt has not been able to catch those five terrorists... Today, you have drones, Pegasus, satellites, CRPF, BSF, CISF and the Defence Minister went there a few days ago, but still you are not able to catch them... It took almost one hour for an Ambulance to reach Baisaran, where the attack took place. The army came on foot. I cannot forget those visuals when a mother and her daughter saw an Indian soldier; they started crying. They thought the terrorist wearing the uniform of a soldier who killed people in Baisaran was waiting for them. That soldier had to say that he was an Indian, and you were safe... This is the kind of terror the people had there," Gogoi said. (ANI)
