New Delhi [India], November 28 (ANI): After the 41 trapped workers were rescued from the Silkyara tunnel, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday said all the citizens of the country are safe under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"We thank everyone who was part of the members who were part of those rescue operations. We feel that when PM Modi is there, every citizen of the country will be safe," he said.
Moments after the input received that all the 41 workers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi had been evacuated, Union Home Minister Amit Shah termed it "great news for the nation" as they were rescued "safe and sound" and said the nation salutes their grit in facing such a challenging situation in the tunnel for so long.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised the bravery and determination of rescuers involved in the Silkyara tunnel operation, saying that they have given new life to the labourers, who were trapped in the tunnel for the last 16 days, adding that the mission has set an "example of humanity and teamwork".
PM Modi took to X and said "The success of the rescue operation of our labourer brothers in Uttarkashi is making everyone emotional. I want to say to the friends who were trapped in the tunnel that your courage and patience are inspiring everyone. I wish you all well and good health."
41 workers were trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi since November 12 after a portion of the under-construction tunnel caved. The debris falling in the 60-metre stretch on the Silkyara side of the tunnel trapped the 41 workers inside the structure. (ANI)
