Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], August 15 (ANI): Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on Independence Day, AIMIM leader and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi has said that PM should condemn targeted violence against one community in the country in his speech.
Talking to reporters, Owaisi said that "We condemn the violence but you are giving collective punishment to one entire community. What happened to your ‘sabka-sath-sabka-vikas-sabka vihswas’?
“We will be celebrating our Independence Day tomorrow and this is the message you (Prime Minister) are giving to the Muslims of Nuh. Mahatma Gandhi himself came here and asked Nuh Muslims not to go to Pakistan," he added.
Owaisi also put questions on the illegal demolition drive taken place recently in Nuh, Haryana, saying there is no court or law in the country.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi should condemn the demolition in Nuh, Haryana. Is there no law or court in the country? This is a violation of the Supreme Court order in the Jahangirpuri case, which said that due process of law should be followed. In his Independence Day speech from the Red Fort, I hope the PM will condemn the targeted violence against one community in this country,” the AIMIM leader said.
“Bulldozer being used in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh. Is there no law or court in the country? Then, why Home Minister Amit Shah is bringing three new laws (The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Bill, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita Bill and Bharatiya Sakhshya Bill) if you yourself have become law and courts, Lok Sabha MP further said.
