"What did Nitish Kumar, BJP did for mothers and sisters?": RJD MP Sanjay Yadav

"What did Nitish Kumar and the BJP do for mothers and sisters in their government? They gave a loan to Jeevika Didis, and they recovered interest from them. Ten months ago, Tejashwi announced a scheme that, when our government comes to power, we will provide 2,500 rupees every month. Our party workers are getting forms filled from them because Tejashwi does what he says," RJD MP Sanjay Yadav told reporters here.

Patna (Bihar) [India], September 7 (ANI): With months left for the Bihar Assembly elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Sanjay Yadav on Sunday hit out at the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar, and questioned the contribution of Nitish Kumar and BJP for "mothers and sisters"
Our party workers are getting forms filled from them because Tejashwi does what he says," the RJD MP told reporters here.
Yadav claimed that the scores of women of Bihar are "joining" the Mahagathbandhan.
"Our leader, Tejashwi Yadav, will keep making efforts for the development and economic progress of the people. Every day lakhs of Biharis and lakhs of our mothers and sisters are definitely joining the Mahagathbandhan," he added.
This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh Limited via video conferencing on September 2.
Earlier, posting on the X social media platform, PM Modi highlighted the main objective of the Jeevika Nidhi scheme, stating that the government is making all efforts to ensure that the women of Bihar do not lack opportunities.
According to a press release from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the primary objective of establishing the Jeevika Nidhi is to provide community members associated with Jeevika easy access to funds at affordable interest rates.
Meanwhile, Bihar elections are expected to be held later this year in October or November; however, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not announced an official date.
While the NDA, comprising the BJP, JD(U), and LJP, aims to continue its tenure in Bihar, the INDIA bloc, comprising the RJD, Congress, and left parties, seeks to oust Nitish Kumar.
In the current Bihar Assembly of 243 members, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) consists of 131 with the BJP having 80 MLAs, JD(U)-45, HAM(S)-4, with the support of 2 Independent Candidates.
The Opposition's INDIA Bloc has a strength of 111 members with RJD leading with 77 MLAs, Congress-19, CPI(ML)-11, CPI(M)-2 and CPI-2. (ANI)
