West Bengal: SSB rescues two girls from clutches of human trafficking

New Delhi [India], Mar 1 (ANI): The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) 41st Battallion's troops in Ranidanga, West Bengal on Wednesday rescued two Nepalese girls from the clutches of a human trafficking racket.

West Bengal: SSB rescues two girls from clutches of human trafficking
New Delhi [India], Mar 1 (ANI): The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) 41st Battallion's troops in Ranidanga, West Bengal on Wednesday rescued two Nepalese girls from the clutches of a human trafficking racket. The SSB saved two girls aged 22 and 24 years respectively and arrested one alleged trafficker namely Bhupendra Kumar a resident of Lalitpur district Nepal. The girls were being sent to Nairobi, Kenya via Delhi to work in a Dance Bar. The case is of organised International Human Trafficking and required information has been passed to Anti Human Trafficking unit of Delhi Police. The arrested trafficker and rescued girls have been handed over to Khoribari Police station Darjeeling, West Bengal. In a similar incident, West Bengal CID on tuesday arrested one person from Panitanki Indo-Nepal border for allegedly trafficking two girls. The girls, Purnima Gurang, Smita Rai and accused trafficker Bhupender Kumar are Nepali nationals. Officials said that, these girls were being sent to Delhi, from there both will be sent to Nairobi, Kenya; to work at a dance bar and later on will be forced to involve in prostitution. The investigation is on for the Delhi based trafficker Aryan and Nairobi based trafficker Ankit Patel @Rockey. This case seems to be an international human trafficking, added the police. During interrogation Bhupender revealed that Ankur Patel @ Rockey is the brother-in-law of actress Mamta Kulkarni. (ANI)
