Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], Mar 19 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah to a competition of Sanskrit shlokas.
Speaking at an International Marwari Federation Holy Celebrations event, Banerjee said, "Puja does not mean only sporting a tilak, Amit babu and Modi babu come and have a competition of shlokas with me. Let's see who has more knowledge about Sanskrit mantras."
The West Bengal Chief Minister also alleged that business people were scared of CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
She said, "If I speak to anyone they will be caught by CBI. I feel scared that they don't enter your house without reason. In this country, people are scared of leaders and changes are necessary now. If there is a change there won't be any problem with businessmen. While some people don't keep their promise, I keep my promise."
She also took a dig at BJP and said, "They say we don't allow Durga Puja. In this country there are many temples but how many have they built. They are not able to build one Ram Temple."
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been at loggerheads with BJP for some time. Earlier on March 13, she had said that BJP’s demand to declare West Bengal a “super sensitive” zone amounts to insulting the people of the state. (ANI)
