Pilibhit (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 9 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated his commitment to serving the nation and its people on Tuesday, pointing out that he would leave no stone unturned to improve citizens' lives.
Addressing a public meeting in Pilibhit, PM Modi said that when the intentions are right and the morale is high, the results are also positive, as evidenced by the developments taking place around the country.
"The land of Pilibhit is blessed by Mother Yashwantari Devi. It holds the origin of Adi Ganga Maa Gomti. I bow to this holy land. On the auspicious first day of Navratri, I am compelled to remind our nation of the INDI alliance's vow to undermine the strength of women. The Congress has shamefully disregarded the power of women, revered across our nation today," he said.
The Prime Minister extended his greetings to the citizens on the occasions of Chaitra Navratri, Hindu New Year, Ugadi, Gudi-Padwa, Cheti-Chand, Navreh and Sajibu-Cheroba, as well as Baisakhi.
He remarked, "Your presence in such vast numbers here is a testament to India's unwavering determination and its ability to overcome even the most formidable challenges. It is your energy and resolve that have propelled India to demonstrate, amidst global adversities, that nothing is beyond its reach. In contrast to previous administrations that sought assistance from the world, India, during the COVID-19 crisis, extended aid by providing medicines and vaccines worldwide. Moreover, amidst global conflicts, we ensured the safe return of every Indian."
"This underscores the strength and efficacy of a resolute and capable government, which you should rightfully take pride in. It was the power of your vote that brought about the establishment of a robust and decisive government. The BJP administration has showcased to the world that India stands on par with any other nation. Presently, the nation is achieving unprecedented levels of development, garnering global attention. The BJP government has diligently worked to alleviate the challenges faced by sugarcane farmers," he added.
Commending Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while also targeting opposition parties, PM Modi highlighted that in the past seven years of Yogi government, more funds have been allocated to sugarcane farmers than what the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samajwadi Party, and the Congress Party provided during their combined 14 years of governance.
PM Modi said that during this period, many sugar mills have been opened while others have been expanded. The prime minister also mentioned that the big campaign going on in the country surrounding ethanol blending is going to benefit the farmers of Pilibhit a lot. He contrasted the situation with the one during Congress and the SP governments when farmers had to run from pillar to post to claim their own money.
PM Modi also mentioned the running of express trains between Pilibhit and Tanakpur following the opening of the broad gauge, as well as the proposed construction of a bridge at Dhanara Ghat at a cost of Rs 250 crore, which will provide relief to thousands of people living on the banks of Sharda river.
"All these facilities are bringing new opportunities for farmers and youth. The industries that were shut down during previous administrations will experience revitalization. In Pilibhit, amidst the melodious tunes of the flute and the majestic roars of tigers, our government is dedicated to showcasing the renown of the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve on a national and global scale. A new ecosystem of eco-tourism is taking shape, promising fresh avenues for employment and self-employment for the youth," he stated.
PM Modi also criticised the previous governments for rampant black marketing of urea in Pilibhit and its surrounding regions 10 years ago, which added to the farmers' woes.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the farmers of Uttar Pradesh have received Rs 70,000 crore through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, with the farmers of Pilibhit alone getting Rs 850 crore.
Hitting out at the Congress Party, he said that the party has become so entrenched in the quagmire of appeasement politics that its manifesto looks more like the Muslim League than its own.
"Congress and the Samajwadi Party are opposing CAA only because of their appeasement politics. No one can forget what the Congress, with which the Samajwadi Party stands today, did to our Sikh friends in 1984. It is the BJP that stands with the Sikhs with all its might, fully understanding their sentiments. We brought Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan to India with full devotion," he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that too late. Kalyan Singh dedicated his life and government for the cause of Ram Mandir.
He remarked that while every family in the country contributed to the temple's construction according to their devotion, the Indi alliance was reviled even before the temple's inception for its position on the issue and continues to face disdain.
"Despite Congress's concerted efforts to obstruct the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the collective devotion of the nation's people led to the grand temple's realisation. However, instead of embracing this historic occasion, Congress chose to spurn the invitation to the Pran Pratistha ceremony, insulting Lord Ram in the process. Moreover, Congress expelled leaders who attended the ceremony from the party for six years," Modi remarked.
PM Modi criticised Congress and its Indi alliance for their penchant for insulting revered figures of the nation. "Notably, senior leaders from Congress or the Samajwadi Party have yet to visit the Statue of Unity. Despite their travels abroad, they have failed to pay homage to Sardar Patel's statue in their homeland," he pointed out.
On this occasion, BJP state president Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh, Union Minister BL Verma, UP government ministers Rakesh Sachan, Baldev Singh Aulakh, Sanjay Singh Gangwar, Bareilly MP Santosh Gangwar, BJP's Pilibhit candidate Jitin Prasad, Bareilly candidate Chhatrapal Singh. Gangwar, former minister Suresh Rana etc. were present. (ANI)
