Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 29 (ANI): Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena MLA candidate from Worli, Milind Deora on Tuesday said that the Mahayuti alliance will work for the people.
Milind Deora filed his nominations from the Worli Assembly seat today, where he is up against sitting MLA from Shiv Sena (UBT) Aaditya Thackeray.
Speaking to media persons after filing his nomination for the Maharashtra assembly polls Milind Deora said, "Today I have filed my nomination form for Mahayuti from Worli Constituency... I took the blessings of Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar...We will work for the people here."
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
Opposition MVA, comprising of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), is looking to reclaim power in the state against the Mahayuti alliance, which consists of three parties--Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
Earlier in the day, Deora asserted that his only aim is to deliver justice to the voters of the constituency, highlighting that his fight is a political one, not personal.
"This is not a personal fight; it is a political fight. Our aim is only one: we have to deliver justice to the voters of Worli. We have to take Mumbai and Maharashtra forward. Unfortunately, the way a fake narrative has been spread against the government in the last 2-3 years, we have to bust that narrative...Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is very enthusiastic about solving the problems of the people of Worli," Deora told ANI.
Meanwhile, the filing of nomination papers for candidates will end on Tuesday. The scrutiny of nominations will be done tomorrow and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 4.
The Model Code of Conduct for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly General Election came into force on October 15. (ANI)
