Dhanbad (Jharkhand) [India], April 30 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma hailed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that the atmosphere has changed in West Bengal today.
"People were filled with excitement and enthusiasm. I saw such a huge roadshow for the first time in West Bengal...We will win more than 35 seats..." he said.
Lashing out at the Congress party, he said, "Congress must be asked why their candidates have been changed."
He further spoke about the Lok Sabha elections in his home state Rajasthan and said, "We will win all the 25 seats."
Earlier in the day, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami met Rajasthan CM during the election campaign in West Bengal. CM Dhami also invited Sharma to visit Char Dham.
"I assure you that this time in West Bengal, we are going to create history in Lok Sabha elections and even in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections...I can say that this time, we will win more than 33 seats in West Bengal. It will be '400 paar' across the country. In Rajasthan, we won all 25 seats in 2014 and 2019. This time too, we will win all 25 seats," said Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Meanwhile, BJP candidate from Srerampur Lok Sabha constituency Kabir Shankar Bose filed a nomination in the presence of Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma in Hooghly.
Notably, voting in six Lok Sabha constituencies in Bengal was held in the first and second phases on April 19 and April 26 respectively.
Polling for the remaining parliamentary seats will be held on May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. The results will be announced on June 4.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the TMC won 34 seats in the state, while the BJP had to settle for just 2 seats. The CPI (M) won 2 seats, while the Congress bagged 4.
However, the BJP came up with a much-improved showing in the 2019 polls, winning 18 seats against the TMC's 22. The Congress's tally dropped to just 2 seats, while the Left scored a blank. (ANI)
