Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], November 18 (ANI): Amid the ongoing assembly elections in Jharkhand and the last day of campaigning, State Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir on Monday expressed confidence about the party's performance and forming the government in the state, saying that they will perform well in the second phase. The alliance performed well in the first phase as well, he added.
"We are confident that our performance will be good in the second phase as well. The alliance has performed well in the first phase as well. We hope that on November 23, our government will come with a bigger mandate than last time. We will form the government for the next five years and work of the people," said Mir.
The Congress leader further said that their roadmap was more clear than any other party. People have responded (well) to the work done by Congress and the alliance, he added.
"The last phase of elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand conclude the election scenes of 2024. The election campaign will end today and voting is on November 20. We have worked here for five years, and people have also responded (well) to it and acknowledged our work. We have a clear roadmap for the next five years, which has a lot for women, farmers, youth and the Pasmanda (backward) community. Our roadmap is clearer than any other party," Congress leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir said.
Meanwhile, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday asserted that Hemant Soren's government would be uprooted from the ground this time. People are angry with the looting policy of the current government in Jharkhand, he added.
Union Minister Pradhan further accused the Jharkhand government of corruption and nepotism, saying that a Chief Minister transferring the state property in his name doesn't happen anywhere else.
"This time his (Hemant Soren) government is not going to be formed. I have gone to Jharkhand and this time change is certain in Jharkhand. People are angry with the looting policy of the current government. Corruption, nepotism and a Chief Minister transferring the state property to himself, such an incident does not happen anywhere else. Hemant Soren's government has been uprooted from the ground this time," the Union Minister said. (ANI)
