"We will come to power": PMK chief Ramadoss predicts NDA's victory in Tamil Nadu polls

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], January 7 (ANI): Pattali Makkal Katchi chief Anbumani Ramadoss on Wednesday expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will form the government in Tamil Nadu in the 2026 Assembly elections.
Earlier today, AIADMK general secretary Edapaddi K. Palaniswami confirmed that the PMK has joined hands with the NDA for the polls
Ramadoss mentioned that Dravida Munnetra Kazagham (DMK) were able to win the previous three elections as the opposition was fragmented; however, in the present time, under Palaniswami's leadership, it has united, and more parties are expected to join the NDA.
"We will form the government with a thumping majority...DMK won the last three elections because the opposition was fragmented, now we have a very good opposition under the AIADMK and more parties will also join us," A Ramadoss told reporters.
Further, the PMK supremo said he met with the AIADMK general secretary to confirm his inclusion in the NDA, adding that his party will contest the election under Palaniswami's leadership.
He said that the Tamil Nadu people are very angry with the ruling DMK regime, stressing that women's safety, farmers, and unemployment are key issues in the state.
"Today I met the leader of AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami and confirmed the alliance of Pattali Makkal Katchi with the AIADMK-led front for the Tamil Nadu assembly elections and we will contest the elections under the leadership of the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu and we will come to power...The people of Tamil Nadu are very angry with the ruling party DMK, women safety, farmers are very angry, unemployment, and social justice are issues," Ramadoss told reporters.
Earlier in the day, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami announced the inclusion of Pattali Makkal Katchi in the state's National Democratic Alliance ahead of the forthcoming Tamil Nadu elections.
Addressing a press briefing in Chennai alongside PMK chief Anbumani Ramadoss, Palaniswami asserted that they are already in an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party and expressed the possibility of including more parties in their bloc.
"The PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss, has also joined the NDA alliance; more parties are also expected to join the alliance. Our alliance is a victory alliance," Palaniswami told reporters.
Tamil Nadu is scheduled to hold elections in the first half of this year. (ANI)
