Leh (Ladakh) [India], May 11 (ANI): Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, who is in Ladakh for a poll campaign, said on Saturday that this time the party needs to work hard for the BJP candidate as certain misunderstandings have been spread.
"We are in Ladakh for 3 days. This time we need to work hard for our BJP candidate here due to certain misunderstandings that have been spread. On the Kargil side, some people have spread things like all Muslims need to unite...that misinformation needs to be removed. For us there are no Buddhists, Muslims, all are dear to us," said Rijiju.
"We are working with PM Modi's Mantra 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas'...BJP will solve the issues of the people who held certain protests here," he said.
PM Modi gave the status of Union Territory to Ladakh, schools, hospitals, roads were made, he said. "We will make the people remember these works once again. During Congress regime, Ladakh was ignored," he said.
Earlier, BJP MP from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal also had clarified that he did not make statements against the party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi after a post on social media falsely attributed a quote to the BJP leader's name.
Namgyal posted an X user post that mentioned him saying, "Joining BJP and supporting Modi was my worst decision, I was not aware of his strategy, people of Ladakh please forgive me."
Namgyal posted his clarification on X and said that he never used these words against Prime Minister Modi and his party.
"I want to clarify that I never said these words. I strongly condemn those spreading false statements by misusing my name. As a loyal BJP Karyakarta, I've always admired our most dynamic leader, Narendra Modi Ji and all our leadership," BJP MP said in a post.
This time BJP has announced the candidature of Tashi Gyalson from Ladakh Constituency, replacing its current MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal from this seat.
Ladakh will go to polls on May 20. The votes will be counted on June 4. (ANI)
