We have work to do for Bihar unlike 'unemployed' Sushil Modi: Tejasvi Yadav
Patna (Bihar) [India], July 6 (ANI): Unaffected by the allegations levelled by Sushil Modi, Bihar deputy Chief Minister Tejasvi Yadav on Thursday said they have much more important work to do for the state unlike the 'unemployed' Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader. Tejasvi Yadav said that Sushil Modi has been lying since the beginning and they cannot come out everyday and give clarification on his baseless allegations. "Sushil Modi has been lying since the beginning. We are not unemployed like Sushil Modi that we do all these things. We have important things to do. We have a lot of work to do for Bihar. We cannot come everyday and give clarification on his allegations. He should apologise," Yadav said. He further said that Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad has said that if Sushil Modi does not apologise within two days, they will file a defamation suit against him. He further went on to say that because Sushil Modi could not become the Chief Minister that is why he is resorting to such things. "He had thought that the BJP would form the government in the state and he would become the Chief Minister. So, the brunt of this is still there and that is why he is doing all this," he said. Sushil Modi yesterday said Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members have acquired more than 125 properties in last 12 years. Addressing a press conference here, Modi said that surprising part is that despite not doing any business, the Lalu clan has become owner of these properties. "From last 90 days, the BJP has been revealing about the benami assets of Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members. Coincidently, today is the foundation day of the RJD. The Lalu clan has acquired more than 125 properties in the last 12 years, that too without doing any business," Modi said. The BJP leader further added that "apart from these 125 properties, they (Lalu and his family) have become owners of the land worth millions through seven shell companies in Patna, Kolkata, Delhi, and Aurangabad." Modi added that Lalu and his family members adopted three modi operandi to acquire properties - shell companies, gifts, and bribe. The BJP leader concluded by saying that "Lalu family also got properties transferred its name in lieu of giving jobs in railways and awarding contracts". It is Sushil Modi only who has been revealing the information about the benami assets of Lalu and his family. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has started taking action against Lalu family's benami assets. (ANI)
