New Delhi [India], January 7 (ANI): Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Tuesday said that the party is prepared for the upcoming assembly elections in the national capital on February 5 and has outlined its strategy.
"Congress is prepared for the elections. We are putting forth our vision for Delhi before the people. The issues which are there will remain and we will keep questioning the current Delhi government," said Sandeep Dikshit, who is contesting from New Delhi seat.
He is contesting against AAP leader and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and BJP's Parvesh Verma.
Dikshit said the party is reaching out to people through meetings and door-to-door campaigns.
"We are ready...we knew that we do not have MLAs, we do not have MPs so by gathering the workers and bringing the organization together again...the blueprint is ready, now when we are going to the elections, going door-to-door, going to meetings. People are showing enthusiasm towards Congress," he said.
The Congress leader said people have apprehensions about EVMs despite the clarifications from the Election Commission.
"Whenever I go to campaign, many people tell me why are you asking for votes, the vote will go to BJP only, till EVM is not removed, no other party will win, this is what common people are saying. So the Election Commission should clear their doubts, if they think the process is so good, why are people having doubts, this is also a question," Dikshit said.
Delhi will go the polls on February 5 and votes will be counted on February 8.
With the announcement of the election dates, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into force in the national capital. (ANI)
