Patna (Bihar) [India], January 15 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Manoj Jha on Wednesday reacted to Union Minister Chirag Paswan's remarks on Bihar elections and said that the Mahagathbandhan, under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav will secure more seats than the majority in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
"We are not astrologers, nor are we experts in EVM manipulation. We are confident that under Tejashwi's leadership, the Mahagathbandhan will secure more seats than the majority," Jha told ANI.
Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan on January 9, exuded confidence of NDA forming government in Bihar in assembly polls later this year and said the ruling alliance will win over 225 seats.
"NDA will not break. this is not going to happen. One thing is certain. The five constituent parties of Bihar will fight the upcoming Bihar assembly elections together. A strong NDA government is going to be formed in the Bihar assembly elections. We will form the government in Bihar by winning more than 225 seats," Chirag said.
Further, Manoj Jha reacted to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's remarks on his return to the INDIA bloc.
He said, "It will not be appropriate to comment on him. His involvement in going 'Idhar-Udhar', including RJD, Tejashwi, and Lalu Ji, will not affect us. We have a blueprint for change in front of us, focused on industries, women's empowerment, and providing employment to the youth. We are working on that blueprint, and we are not concerned with anyone's movements here or there."
Earlier on January 5, CM Nitish Kumar took a veiled dig at the opposition and said that he mistakenly gone with them but now he is with his old friends.
"What was the condition of women earlier? Since we started the 'Jeevika Didi' scheme - women are happy, and whenever they need help, they are given help...I had mistakenly gone with them (opposition), but now I am with my old friends. Did they (Opposition) do any work for women? We have worked for everyone - be it Hindus, Muslims, upper castes, backward, Dalits or women. People should remember this," he said.
Notably, last year, Nitish Kumar formally broke off his alliance with the RJD by resigning as CM and joined forces with the BJP to be sworn in for another term at the helm of the state government hours later, all in the span of one day -- January 28 -- two weeks from Makar Sankranti 2024. (ANI)
