"We are fortunate to witness BJP being world's largest party": JP Nadda

"There was a generation of (BJP) that sold their lands to save deposits for contesting elections...Today, we are fortunate to witness an era when BJP is the world's largest party," Nadda said while addressing an intellectual meet as part of the party's campaign for the Karnal Lok Sabha seat.

Karnal (Haryana) [India], May 19 (ANI): Lauding the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda said on Sunday that the party is "fortunate" to witness the era when the BJP is 'the world's largest political party'.
He further said that PM Modi has changed the whole narrative and discourse of politics, centring it on the lines of development.
"There was a generation of (BJP) that sold their lands to save deposits for contesting elections...Today, we are fortunate to witness an era when BJP is the world's largest party," Nadda said while addressing an intellectual meet as part of the party's campaign for the Karnal Lok Sabha seat.
"PM Modi has changed the whole narrative, discourse and manner of politics. We have witnessed all this, 10 years ago, India was called a corrupt, backward nation. It was criticised. Today, the whole world looks at the country with respect," he added.
The BJP President asserted that every Indian is working to achieve the aim of 'Viksit Bharat'.
"10 years ago, the people were disappointed with politics and had lost all hope. Today, the whole country is working to make 'Viksit Bharat'. Every citizen believes that we will be a developed nation," Nadda said.
"Earlier, the whole politics was played on the lines of caste, religion, region...there was narrative of divide and rule. Today, under PM Modi, we are following 'Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas Sabbka Vishwas Sabka Prayaas' and carrying out the politics of development," he added.
Notably, PM Modi has set the target of making India a developed nation by 2047.
"Earlier, the leadership was not unaccountable, today it is accountable. Today, it is about report card...did anyone see leaders presenting their report cards 10 years back?" the BJP President further said.
Voting on all 10 seats in Haryana will be held on May 25. The counting of votes will be done on June 4.
In 2019, the BJP swept the state by winning all 10 seats. (ANI)
