Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], August 27 (ANI): West Bengal Police on Tuesday accused West Bengal LoP and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari of creating a false narrative about four students who have been missing since last night.
Denying Suvendu Adhikari's claim about the four missing students, West Bengal Police on Tuesday said that those four students have been arrested for orchestrating large-scale violence during the Nabanna Abhijan.
Taking it to a social media post on X, West Bengal Police wrote, "A certain political leader has been trying to create a false narrative about four students who have been missing since last night. The truth is, nobody is missing. The four were planning to orchestrate large-scale violence during the Nabanna Abhijan today and were involved in a conspiracy of murder and attempted murder. They have been arrested in the Interest of public safety and security, and their families have been informed."

Reacting to the West Bengal Police statement, Suvendhu Adhikari replied that the families have approached the Calcutta High Court
In a social media post, Adhikari wrote, "The families have approached Hon'ble Calcutta High Court. See you in Court Mamata Police.."

Notably, in the morning today, West Bengal LoP claimed that four student activists who were distributing food to the volunteers suddenly went missing after midnight.
In another social media post on X, Adhikari wrote, "The following Student Activists who were distributing food to the volunteers, who were arriving at Howrah Station, suddenly went missing after midnight:- # Subhojit Ghosh # Pulokesh Pandit # Goutam Senapati # Pritam Sarkar Neither they can be traced nor are they answering their phones. We apprehend that they may have been arrested/detained by the Mamata Police. If something happens to them Mamata Police will be held accountable. @BengalGovernor @BhallaAjay26 @CPKolkata #CP @hwhcitypolice."

Meanwhile, in a potential move to control the protestors, the check gates at the rear of Fort William at Hastings, in Kolkata were being greased by civic workers ahead of the Nabanna Abhijan Rally which is scheduled for today. The West Bengal Police has tightened the security all over the area and deployed heavy forces to control the protests.
The police have also deployed vajra vehicles, water cannons, and Riot Control Force in the area while containers were placed to block the roads. A march to Nabanna has been called today by Paschim Banga Chatra Samaj and other organizations which aimed to protest the recent rape and murder of a woman trainee doctor in Kolkata.
The brutal rape and murder of a woman trainee doctor on the R G Kar Medical College and Hospital premises sparked outrage all over the country. The incident shook the entire nation, and since then several protests have been staged demanding justice for the victim.
The trainee doctor was found dead in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9. (ANI)
