"Vote for the betterment of Chhattisgarh" says Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel

While polling is being held in a single phase for the 230-member assembly in Madhya Pradesh, voting for the first phase in Chhattisgarh for 20 seats was held on November 7.

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], November 17 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday reminded voters that their vote will decide the future of youth, farmers of the state where polling for the 70 seats of 90 members assembly began today at 8 am on Friday.
While polling is being held in a single phase for the 230-member assembly in Madhya Pradesh, voting for the first phase in Chhattisgarh for 20 seats was held on November 7.
Speaking to ANI, Baghel said, "Today polling will happen for the remaining 70 seats...Your one vote will decide the future of youth, farmers, women...Please move out of your homes to vote..."
"Vote for the betterment of Chhattisgarh, these polls will determine the mode of development of the state over the next five years," CM Bahel appealed to voters.
Earlier former Congress Presdient Rahul Gandhi expressed confidence in the Congress' ability to storm back to power in the state.
" In Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh there is a Congress storm coming with a huge majority. Please come out of your homes and go and cast your vote in great numbers. Choose the trusted Congress government that will work for the poor, the farmers, the women and youth" Rahul Gandhi said in his post on X.
congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi who campaigned extensively in Madhya Pradesh was also confident that the people of Chhattisgarh would vote for the Congress.
" The people of Chhattisgarh have reposed faith in the Congress government and our government has lived up to its promises. The people of this great state are very hard-working and honest. They know the power hungry people sitting in Delhi very well. Those people lie and misuses the money of the people. Their pride makes them believe that the honesty of the citizens is their weakness. The BJP is steeped in in pride. People do not want these false promises and fake politics, they want a government that will work for the people" Priyanka Gandhi said in her post on X.
The main battle in the state is between the Congress and the BJP. Prior to the voting, the state witnessed the top leaders of both parties, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupesh Bahgel, holding extensive campaigns.
The BJP, which ruled the state continuously between 2003 and 2018, is seeking to replace the Congress government led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Bahgel.
Prominent candidates in the fray include Baghel, state Assembly Speaker Charandas Mahant, Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo and BJP state president Arun Sao.
Polling will continue till 3 pm while voting in nine polling stations of Bindranavagarh Assembly constituency will be held from 7 am to 3 pm. For Chhattisgarh, over 18,800 polling stations have been set up for the second phase of polling. A total of 958 candidates are in the fray across the 70 seats.
Adequate security arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful and fair elections. The electorate in the state comprises over two crore voters.
The counting of votes for the five states will be done on December 3. (ANI)
