New Delhi [India], August 24 (ANI): After Delhi L-G VK Saxena sanctioned the prosecution of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in an excise policy case, AAP Minister Atishi said on Saturday that the conspiracy of the BJP is visible, adding that every conspiracy of them will fail.
Addressing a press conference here today, Atishi said that Arvind Kejriwal was arrested before the Lok Sabha elections in a false case.
"The conspiracy of the BJP is visible, it is visible how the BJP is using the ED and CBI as its political weapon. On June 20, Arvind Kejriwal gets bail from the trial court in the ED case. Even before that order is uploaded, ED approaches the High Court on June 21 and gets a stay on that bail order without the order. Then on June 22, Kejriwal goes to the Supreme Court against the order. When the BJP came to know that he had got bail from the SC, they got Kejriwal arrested by the CBI on June 26," she said.
"When this matter reaches the Supreme Court and CBI is given 2 weeks to file its reply, tomorrow they ask the court for more time," Atishi added.
The AAP leader also asserted that no matter how much effort the BJP makes, truth will win.
"Every conspiracy of the BJP, which they are hatching through CBI, ED, every conspiracy of theirs will fail," she said.
The central probe agency recently filed the sanction in the Rouse Avenue court.CBI has already filed a supplementary charge sheet against Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal who was arrested on June 26 and in judicial custody till August 27.
The court is to consider the supplementary charge on August 27 and a sanction was required to prosecute Kejriwal.
On August 20, the Rouse Avenue Court extended Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's judicial custody in the CBI case until August 27 this year.
Kejriwal was arrested by ED on March 21, 2024, in connection with a money laundering probe relating to alleged irregularities in the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021-22.
On June 26, 2024, AAP Chief was arrested by CBI while he was in custody of the Enforcement Directorate in the case. (ANI)
