Kigali [Rwanda], Feb. 21 (ANI): Vice President Hamid Ansari on Tuesday left for Uganda after concluding his three-day visit to Rwanda. On second leg of his visit, the Vice President will be meeting his counterpart Edward Ssekandi and President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni. Vice President Ansari will also address India-Uganda Business Forum. Besides, he would be paying floral tribute to the bust of Mahatma Gandhi at Jinja. Vice President Ansari will also be interacting with the Indian community in Kampala. The bilateral relations between India and Uganda are characterised by historical cultural linkages, extensive economic and trade interests, and a convergence on major bilateral and international issues. Vice President Ansari is on a five-day visit to African countries to hold discussions with leaders of the two east African nations on issues of bilateral interest. India and Rwanda earlier on Tuesday signed three MoUs for promoting innovation, easing visa requirements and boosting air connectivity between the two countries. Addressing the India-Rwanda Business Forum organized jointly by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Rwanda Development Board in Kigali, Vice-president Hamid Ansari said India-Rwanda Innovation Growth Program is being launched to expand ties in science, technology and innovation. Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Vijay Sampla and other four Members of Parliament including Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader Kanimozhi, Ranvijay Singh Judev, Ranee Narah and P.K. Biju are also a part of the delegation. (ANI)
