Venkaiah Naidu to review progress of urban schemes in UP today
New Delhi [India], May. 5 (ANI): Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu will review the implementation of central sector and centrally sponsored urban schemes in Uttar Pradesh today. Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath and concerned ministers of the State will attend the review in Lucknow. This is the first such review of urban sector programmes since the formation of new Government in the state. Urban development Ministry in a release said, the highest number of 62 cities and towns are included in Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) for UP. Centre has also approved a total investment of 9,322 crore rupees with a central assistance of 5,043 crore rupees for the development of basic urban infrastructure. Releasing the results of Swachh Survekshan-2017 in New Delhi yesterday, Naidu stressed the need to step up efforts to ensure cleanliness in urban areas of Uttar Pradesh. (ANI)
