Vadra dubs comment against Priyanka 'shameful', demands public apology
New Delhi [India], Jan 25 (ANI): Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra on Wednesday dubbed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vinay Katiyar's sexist remarks against his wife Priyanka Gandhi as shameful and sought a public apology. Vadra condemned Katiyar's comment and said that such remarks exude the kind of mindset which political leaders like the latter hold. "Such statements expose shameful mindset of some political leaders, Vinay Katiyar should publically apologise for his remarks," said Vadra. Echoing similar sentiments, Priyanka said Katiyar's comments "expose the BJP's mindset towards women." "He exposes the BJP's mindset towards the better half of the population of India," said a statement from Priyanka's office. BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Katiyar earlier in the day said Priyanka Gandhi is not the most beautiful star campaigner. "It doesn't matter if she is going to be a star campaigner for the Congress in the upcoming assembly elections. There are number of star campaigners who are more beautiful than her," Katiyar told ANI. (ANI)
