"Uttar Pradesh government leaking papers intentionally," alleges Akhilesh Yadav

Etawah (Uttar Pradesh) [India], February 26 (ANI): Days after a police recruitment exam was cancelled by the Uttar Pradesh government after a paper leak, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the Yogi Adityanath government was leaking the papers "intentionally."
"The government is playing with the future of the youth. Firstly, jobs are not being created, then, the employment promised has also not been provided after selection. Even if advertisements for jobs come out, it is the government that knowingly leaks the papers," Yadav said, speaking to reporters on Monday.
The Samajwadi Party chief said that if the government prints, transports and distributes the question papers, it must be the state government's own people who are involved in this "paper leak" crime.
"Who prints these papers, who transports them, under whose security are they brought? Aren't people from the government involved in this? If the government prints the paper, transporting them and distributes them, who is leaking the papers? You should ask the government," Yadav said.
Speaking on the rationale of the government in knowingly leaking papers, Yadav said that the state government does not have the budget to recruit so many candidates and hence they are stalling to process. Yadav also alleged that crores of money are being collected in the process of recruitment.
"The government's objective in this is to prevent recruitment. If they have to recruit, they have to make enough allocations for it under budget, but they do not have any budget. So they give advertisements and the money they accumulate in the name of recruitment is also being used by the government. Crores of money might have been collected," Yadav said.
Highlighting the struggle of candidates appearing for such examinations, Yadav said, "Poor candidates sell their land, live on rent, live in debt and fill up these examination forms. How many jobs have been given?...Why have they prevented recruitment when lakhs of youths used to get employed every year?"
Hitting out at the government for not acting at the first instance, Yadav said, "If the government had acted the first time an examination paper got leaked in Uttar Pradesh, youths would have gotten jobs, and the paper leak would not have happened. Today, dialogues from the government are being printed in newspapers."
Yadav also questioned the possibility of paper leaks, even after the government has made strict arrangements to conduct these recruitment examinations.
"More than 60 lakh youth are tired of this. Whether it is police recruitment, RO or some other, candidates want re-examination. What is this government doing? Even after so much arrangement, paper leaks are rampant. And to prevent any investigation, they flash any name," the Samajwadi Party chief said.
Akhilesh also claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party is creating pressure on his party's MLAs so that they cross-vote during the Rajya Sabha elections.
"The government is creating pressure on the MLAs for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. This is how they work. They instil fear, threaten people, provoke agency action on them or take up any old case and pressurise them. All these will not work in this election," the Samajwadi Party chief said.
Meanwhile, reacting to the seat-sharing deal between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Laxmikant Bajpai hit out at Yadav for stitching up an alliance with Rahul Gandhi whose grandmother and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had imposed the Emergency.
"Rahul Gandhi's grandmother had imposed Emergency in the country. The Constitution was thwarted, and all democratic individuals were jailed. Today, Akhilesh met Rahul Gandhi at Agra and spoke about saving Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's Constitution. The people will see through this," Bajpai said speaking to ANI.
The Rajya Sabha MP also attacked Yadav since his father, Mulayam Singh, had ordered to fire on Kar Sevaks during the Ram Mandir movement.
"The one whose father ordered him to fire bullets at Kar Sevaks is now speaking on Constitution!" Bajpai said. (ANI)
