US bombing shows Trump administration won't take nonsense from anyone: Defence expert
New Delhi [India], Apr 14 (ANI): Defence Expert P.K. Sehgal on Friday said that by dropping the largest non-nuclear bomb on a series of caves used by Islamic State militants in Afghanistan, President Donald Trump administration in the United States has touted the bombing as an evidence of a more muscular US foreign policy. Sehgal said that the Trump administration has sent a clear message that the United States will not make any compromise as far as ISIS is concerned. "The target was caves of ISIS. In last few months the ISIS was establishing itself in a reasonably big way in east Afghanistan. The area chosen is east of Afghanistan which borders Pakistan. Via this attack very clean message has been sent by the Trump administration that there will be no compromise as far as ISIS is concerned," said Sehgal. Sehgal further said that through this step the U.S. has also sent a message to China, North Korea and Pakistan that it will not take any nonsense from anyone. "The U.S. also want to send a message to China and North Korea that the Trump administration will not take any nonsense from anyone," he said. "This attack has sent a message to Pakistan also to get after the Haqqani network, because Pakistan continues to protect and safe guard the Haqqani group and the Taliban, which is acting against the interest of Americans in Afghanistan. Moreover, this has also sent Assad a message that no attacks like that of chemical weapon will be tolerated," he added. The U.S. military yesterday dropped its most powerful non-nuclear bomb in the Achin district of Afghanistan's Nangarhar province to target the Islamic State. The Nangarhar province borders with Pakistan. According to the report, a GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, nicknamed MOAB and also known as the "mother of all bombs" is a 21,600-pound, GPS-guided ammunition that is America's most powerful non-nuclear bomb. This is the first time a MOAB has been used in the battlefield, according to the US officials. This ammunition was developed during the Iraq War. (ANI)
