Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 11 (ANI): The Uttar Pradesh Madarsa Shiksha Parishad (MSP) has directed all madarsas affiliated to it to unfurl the national flag and recite the national anthem on August 15. UP Madarsa Shiksha Parishad has also issued a circular in this regard and asked all madarsas affiliated to it to comply with its orders. The Yogi Adityanath-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government had asked madarsas affiliated to the UP Madarsa Shiksha Parishad to pay tribute to freedom fighters and hold cultural programmes on August 15. The circular issued by the UP Madarsa Shiksha Parishad to district minority welfare officers also states that along with photographs, videos of the programmes must be shot as well. According to the circular, the flag hoisting and recitation of the National Anthem will take place at 8 a.m. After that, homage will be paid to the soldiers and martyrs of the freedom struggle. Students have been asked to sing songs on nationalism and discuss the history of August 15 and the freedom fighters. The circular also calls for holding cultural programmes based on the theme of national unity, along with sports activities. This comes after a day the Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a notice making the singing of Vande Mataram compulsory in all BMC run schools. (ANI)
