Bhawanathpur (Jharkhand) [India], November 11 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath alleged that mafias are rapidly growing in Jharkhand and claimed that only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can ensure both security and governance in the state.
Monday marks the final day of campaigning for the first phase of polling, scheduled for November 13.
CM Yogi Adityanath also cited the example of the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh and highlighted how the authorities were strictly dealing with the miscreants.
"Mafias are flourishing in Jharkhand. Uttar Pradesh is right next to you. Go and see, no one will play with the law and order because if someone does so or tries to disrupt a festival, then the ticket to Yamraj is booked. (The accused are dealt with very strictly). Whether it is security or good governance, only BJP can provide it," CM Yogi said while addressing a gathering here.
Earlier today, Assam Chief Minister and BJP's Jharkhand co-incharge, Himanta Biswa Sarma exuded confidence that his party will secure a "huge" majority in the upcoming election.
Speaking to ANI, Assam CM Biswa highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did a "historic roadshow" on Sunday while underscoring his party's election campaign has been "very" good.
"I think that we are moving forward towards a huge majority. The atmosphere is very good; our election campaign was very good. PM Modi did a historic roadshow yesterday. We are set to win here with a huge majority," he told ANI.
The first phase is scheduled to take place on Wednesday and the second phase is scheduled for November 20. The votes will be counted on November 23.
In the previous assembly election, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats, the BJP won 25 and Congress won 16 seats. (ANI)
