UP CM Akhilesh trains guns at Modi Govt. over Kashmir unrest
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Aug. 23 (ANI): Cornering the Centre over the prevailing unrest in Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said the entire nation knows how weak Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is on the border areas. "You want to talk about the law and order situation.look into your states.see what is happening. I don't want to raise the matter about how weak you are being seen in the border areas. I have attended army schools and many of my schoolmates are serving on the borders. The entire country knows what the situation on the borders is," Akhilesh said. He said some officers have allegiance to other political parties in the state, adding they were creating hurdles in implementation of government schemes. "As far as dial 100 scheme is concerned, we want to bring it. We have got some good and some bad officers. I know that some of our officers have allegiance to other parties and they do not want this scheme to get functional. These officers are creating a hurdle in this but we have found out a way. We have a very good Chief Secretary. He will see who is sitting on the file. If the Chief Minister is standing behind him, he will clear the file," he added. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Miniter also mocked the BJP's ongoing 'tiranga' yatra ahead of the assembly polls. "The election in Uttar Pradesh is approaching. The entire nation unfurled the national flag on August 15. I don't know till when will the people in the BJP unfurl their party flag. We are not against it but in which direction they want to take the country?" he said. On the Congress Party projecting Sheila Dikshit as the chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming assembly polls, he said it was unfortunate on part of the grand old party to project a person from an upper caste to the coveted post. Attacking the media, Akhilesh said they highlight the Bulandshahr and Mathura incidents underlining the law and order problem in the state but never give prominence to what is happening in Delhi and Haryana.
