Lucknow [India], Oct. 17 (ANI): The Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Monday approved the construction of an International theme park in Ayodhya. In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow, it was also decided that the Madarsa teachers will now get an enhanced honorarium of fifteen thousand in place of eight thousands which was given to them till now. The state government's move will benefit around twenty thousand Madarsa teachers, who a few months ago, had staged protest marches for days in the state capital demanding regularisation of their services, payment of their arrears since last three years and enhancement in the honorarium. Giving the information Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar apprised that another important decision taken by the cabinet was to abolish the classification between Plan and Non Plan categories from 2017-18 budget. From now on there will be no separate non-plan category in annual budget, he said. The Cabinet also approved to enhance the lease period of the ponds from five to ten years' given for pisciculture to the farmers and others. The world class theme Park at Ayodhya will be built in the International Ramlila Centre to develop Ayodhya as a top tourist destination. Akhilesh Yadav had earlier sanctioned the construction of amphitheatre and Bhajan Sandhya Sthal in the temple town with Rs. 15 crore in August 2016. As per the tourism department records, Ayodhya recorded visit of 1.43 crore domestic tourists in 2014 and the footfall of foreign tourists was close to 16,000. (ANI)
