Union Minister Ananth Kumar credits 'Modi wave' for landslide win in UP, U'Khand
Bengaluru (Karnataka)[India], Mar. 12(ANI): With the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) storming back to power in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand securing landslide wins, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar gave full credit for the victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Across the country the people have blessed the good governance and progressive reforms by our beloved Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is Modi wave across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa and everywhere. We are taking this mammoth and historic victory with great amount of humility and with utmost responsibility under the leadership of Narendra Modi we serve the people of UP and Uttarakhand along with people of this country for development and well being," Kumar told ANI. Responding to a question related to performance of BJP in Manipur, Kumar said, "Last three elections we were getting zero but this time we are forming the government in Manipur, it means that from the shores of ocean in Gujarat and Maharashtra to the borders of Myanmar that is Manipur, it is BJP and Modi wave." The BJP is returning to power in the politically crucial state of UP after a gap of 15 years during which regional parties such as the SP and the BSP held sway. BJP national president Amit Shah, who crafted and conducted the election strategy in UP, said the results have catapulted Prime Minister Modi to the stature of the 'tallest leader' since independence. The BJP bagged 312 seats on its own with a nearly 40 percent vote share and with allies their strength goes up to 324 in a House of 403. Prime Minister Modi took the occasion to thank for the support the BJP gained from different sections of the society. An overjoyed Prime Minister took to twitter to express his emotions. "Am overjoyed that BJP has received unprecedented support from all sections of society. Huge support from the youth is gladdening," he tweeted. Prime Minister Modi also congratulated BJP chief Amit Shah and other party bearers for their exemplary work in taking the party to new heights. "I salute the hard work of BJP Karyakartas. They have tirelessly worked hard at the grassroots level & won the confidence of the people," he tweeted. "Every moment of our time, everything we do is for welfare & wellbeing of the people of India. We believe in the power of 125 crore Indians," he added.(ANI)
