Undeterred from attack on his PSO, Muslim Cleric swears to continue flaying 'Pak sponsored terrorism'

New Delhi [India], Mar 26 (ANL): Asserting that he will not deter from condemning Pakistan sponsored terrorism, Maulana Syed Athar Dehlavi, a Delhi-based Muslim cleric whose Personal Security Officer (PSO) was attacked by terrorists late last night on Sunday, said that he will not succumb to such incidents.

New Delhi [India], Mar 26 (ANL): Asserting that he will not deter from condemning Pakistan sponsored terrorism, Maulana Syed Athar Dehlavi, a Delhi-based Muslim cleric whose Personal Security Officer (PSO) was attacked by terrorists late last night on Sunday, said that he will not succumb to such incidents. Athar said that he has been working on ground level in Kashmir for past 27 years and that his act of propagating peace in the valley had even instigated the ISI to issue a threat against him. "I have been working on ground in Jammu and Kashmir from past 27 Years. I was in Srinagar from past three days and we were working on the matter of peace in the valley. And ISI had openly threatened me by posting a message against me on their website," said he said. 'I have faced many such incidents in the past about I will say that I will not get scared and I will keep on condemning Pakistan sponsored terrorism," he added. Further wishing for speedy recovery of his PSO Athar said, "I am just concerned about the health of my PSO, hope he recovers soon." In a disturbing development, two terrorists on yesterday night snatched a loaded AK-47 assault rifle of Private Security Official (PSO) of Athar Dehlavi, a Delhi-based Muslim cleric and the chairman of Anjuman Minhaje Rasool. According to reports, the terrorist attacked the officer Mohammed Hanief with chilli powder and fled with the weapon. This is being seen as the first such case in the last two decades. In the process, one policeman got injured and was admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital. He received around 8 to 19 stitches on his head. One amongst the two terrorist was arrested and identified as Masood Ahmed Malik from Shopian, however, the other fled with rifle. The incident took place near Mandir Masjid Point near Jewel Chowk here. In the view of the incident all Nakkas have been alerted and asked to check all outgoing vehicles. (ANI)
