New Delhi [India], December 8 (ANI): Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing them of practising 'double standards' when it comes to the issue of slum dwellers.
In a post on X, the AAP leader said that the BJP leaders get photographed with slum residents and then "secretly plot" to demolish their homes and manipulate their votes.
"Understand the double politics of BJP. These people get photographed with slum dwellers, eat food in their homes, and then plot to demolish the slums by cutting their votes," he wrote on X.
The AAP leader further alleged that the BJP is currently demolishing slums, and warned people to beware of the BJP's false promises and dirty politics
"The people who are pretending to protest today are the same people who have made every effort in the last one year to snatch the rights of the slum dwellers and make them homeless and even today all the agencies of BJP are engaged in demolishing the slums. Beware of BJP's false promises and dirty politics. The only true friend of slum dwellers is @ArvindKejriwal
@AamAadmiParty," he said.

This comes after the BJP leaders held demonstrations in different slum areas of the national capital to protest against the local issues faced by the residents.
"Now we will not tolerate it anymore, we will change it! Today MP Shri @RamvirBidhuri
along with slum dwellers and activists demonstrated in the slum of Govindpuri regarding the local problems caused due to the negligence of the Arvind Kejriwal government," the official handle of BJP Delhi posted on X.
State General Secretary Vishnu Mittal also demonstrated in Shalimar Bagh along with slum dwellers.
"Now we will not tolerate it anymore, we will change it! Today, the State General Secretary Mr. @visshnumittal along with slum dwellers and workers demonstrated in Shalimar Bagh regarding the local problems arising due to the negligence of the Arvind Kejriwal government," the post added.
BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj held a protest against the misgovernance of the AAP government in the Kailash Park cluster, which falls under the Moti Nagar assembly constituency.
"Now we will not tolerate it anymore, we will change it! Today, MP Ms. @BansuriSwaraj
along with slum dwellers and BJP workers protested against the misgovernance of the AAP government in the Kailash Park cluster, which falls under Moti Nagar assembly constituency, regarding the local problems arising due to the negligence of the AAP government," the BJP Delhi posted on X.
The Assembly polls in Delhi are expected to be held in early 2025. After winning 67 out of 70 seats in 2015, AAP again won 62 seats in the 2020 assembly elections. While BJP took its tally to eight seats, Congress failed to open its account for the second straight time. (ANI)
