New Delhi [India], July 24 (AN): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said Rashtrapati Bhavan became 'Lok Bhavan' under President Pranab Mukherjee's tenure. Speaking at the farewell ceremony of President Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan, PM Modi said, "Under President Pranab Mukherjee, Rashtrapati Bhavan became a 'Lok Bhavan'. This happened only because as President Mukherjee, as he is so close to the nation and to the citizen of India." The prime minister thanked President Mukherjee for his guidance and said it was because of the outgoing President he was able to take many important decisions. "He used to listen everything very peacefully. If there was any need for change, he even used to point that out. He also used to motive us a lot. It was because of this I was able to take many important decisions," Prime Minister Modi said. "The guidance I received from President Pranab Mukherjee will help me immensely. I am sure those who worked with him feel the same," he added. The prime minister said President Mukherjee is extremely knowledgeable and simple person. "Whenever I would discuss official matters with President Mukherjee he would guide me and offer constructive feedbacks," he said. President Mukherjee will demit office on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 and the President-elect Ram Nath Kovind will be sworn-in tomorrow. (ANI)
