"Under PM Modi, India moved forward with resolution of Viksit Bharat," says JP Nadda

Sundargarh (Odisha) [India], May 16 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda on Thursday addressed a public rally in Odisha's Sundargarh and asserted that India has witnessed a lot of transformation in the last 10 years and the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has moved forward with the resolution of 'Viksit Bharat.'
Addressing the public rally, JP Nadda said, "In the last 10 years, there has been a lot of transformation... 10 yaers ago, the country was known as an underdeveloped country, it was known as a country of corruption. The common man had accepted that nothing would change in the country... But today after 10 years, in 2024, under the leadership of Modi, the country in 2024 has moved forward with the resolution of Viksit Bharat. This is the transformation. Today, we are moving forward with the resolution of Viksit Bharat."
He added further, "And we are not saying this, but the world is saying this that under the leadership of PM Modi, Viksit Bharat will happen. He has also changed the Indian politic's culture, character, definition, and mindset."
Talking about the elections in India, the BJP National President said, "10 years ago, we used to see that the elections in India were based on castes, religion, vote banks, appeasement. 'Phoot dalo, raj kato, apna ullu seedha karo, satta par baitho, apne parivar ki chinta karo, aur janta jaye jaha jana hai.'"
Nadda also praised the Prime Minister and lauded him for bringing the Adivasi community into the mainstream. "For van-dhan, the PM has kept aside Rs 4000 crore... Modi never considered his Adivasi brothers as vote banks. He considered them as his own and worked towards bringing them into the mainstream."
Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDY) is a scheme launched by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, with the aim of improving the livelihood of tribal communities in India. The scheme focuses on developing value chains for forest-based products and enhancing the income of tribal communities by providing them with skill training and capacity building.
Talking about the various developments under the leadership of PM Modi, Nadda said, "At one time, India was at 11th position in the economy but today, under the leadership of PM, it has come on fifth position."
He added, "In sectors like mining, pharma, petrochemicals, India has moved forward... Today, India is manufacturing the cheapest and effective medicines... You will be happy to know that India had sent Covid vaccines to 100 nations. And out of these, 48 nations received the vaccines free of cost. 'Isiliye, bharat ab lene wala bharat nai hai, bharat ab demne vwala bharat hai.'"
Nadda also took to his official X handle and posted about his rally in Sundargarh,. He said, "...Despite having a different government in Odisha, PM Narendra Modi has consistently addressed the needs and aspirations of the people of Odisha. Our BJP government has always prioritised providing assistance to the state. On the other hand, Naveen Babu's (Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik) BJD government kept its own marginalised people deprived of the benefits of central government schemes meant for their upliftment and advancement."
Nadda added, "It is the Odisha people's unwavering affection that makes BJP unstoppable. In this assembly and Lok Sabha elections, people see the BJP as the sole hope for their comprehensive development."
The assembly and Lok Sabha polls in the BJD-ruled state are being held across four phases--from May 13 to June 1. The counting of votes will be held on June 4.
Polling for the first phase was conducted in 28 Assembly seats and four Lok Sabha constituencies on May 13. In the fifth phase, 35 Assembly seats and five Lok Sabha constituencies will vote on May 20, 42 Assembly segments and six Lok Sabha seats on May 25 and the remaining 42 Assembly seats and six Lok Sabha constituencies in the last phase on June 1.
In the last assembly elections in 2019, the BJD won 112 out of 146 seats, while the BJP had to settle for just 23 seats and the Congress finished at 9.
In the Lok Sabha elections in the same year, the BJD mopped up the lion's share of the electoral spoils, with the BJP and the Congress bringing up the rear. The BJD won 12 seats, the BJP finished a close second at 8, and the Congress bagged just a lone seat. (ANI)
