UDF to hold march against govt.'s policy on cooperative sector

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday questioned the Maharashtra government over its handling of the weather and water situation, alleging that timely measures were not taken despite prior knowledge of the conditions, and said he would lead a march next week to highlight issues faced by farmers in Western Vidarbha.

During the second phase of the Samajik Samrasta Mahotsav, 21 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families whose homes Governor Shri Acharya Devvratji had visited and with whom he had shared meals during the Gram Kalyan Programme were invited and felicitated at Lok Bhavan.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament began on July 20 and concluded on August 13. It adjourned sine die on August 13 after 19 sittings spread over 25 days. Prorogation means the termination of a Session of the House by an order made by the President under Article 85(2)(a) of the Constitution.

US National Matthew Aaron Vandyke has moved a bail application seeking default bail. He is an accused in a case linked to the Myanmar Training Camp case registered under UAPA by the NIA. He was arrested by the NIA in March 2026.

Assam Congress President Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday raised concerns over the government's UPI proposal, saying that the Parliament Standing Committee on Finance had not discussed it and that the Finance Department had not presented any specific proposal on the issue before the panel.
