Agartala (Tripura) [India], July 2 (ANI): Tripura BJP state President Rajib Bhattacharjee has issued a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi over his speech in Lok Sabha, labelling it a "display of lies, misinformation, and inappropriate conduct."
Bhattacharya's statement highlights his dissatisfaction with the Congress leader's remarks, accusing Gandhi of undermining the dignity of the parliamentary process.
In his speech, Gandhi made several allegations, including criticism of the Agniveer scheme, compensation related to Ayodhya, and the treatment of farmers. Bhattacharya contended that these claims were baseless and quickly refuted with factual information.
"Gandhi's behaviour and statements were unbefitting of a Leader of Opposition," Bhattacharya remarked.
He emphasized that such conduct not only disrespects parliamentary decorum but also spreads misinformation among the public.
The Tripura BJP President urged Rahul Gandhi to issue a public apology for his actions and called on the Congress party to take steps to ensure its leaders adhere to the principles of parliamentary decorum and truth.
Rahul Gandhi in his speech in Lok Sabha on Monday afternoon, during the debate on the motion of thanks on President Draupadi Murmu's address accused the BJP and RSS of preaching and spreading violence and hatred. His remarks drew protests from the Treasury benches.
The BJP leaders accused the Congress MP "of speaking lies, misleading the House and terming the entire Hindu community violent".
PM Modi slammed Rahul Gandhi during his speech. "Calling the entire Hindu community violent is a very serious matter," the Prime Minister said. Home Minister Amit Shah demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi. (ANI)
