New Delhi [India], February 20 (ANI): Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the new Bharatiya Janata Party government in the national capital, BJP MLA Kapil Mishra said that together they will implement the Prime Minister's vision for Delhi.
Kapil Mishra, who will also take oath as Minister in the Delhi Government by Chief Minister designate Rekha Gupta, visited the Jhandewalan Temple today.
"It is a historic day. Under the leadership of Rekha Ji, a new BJP government is being formed, and together, we will implement the Prime Minister's vision for Delhi. I have not come here (to the temple) to ask for anything; I am here to express gratitude," he said.
Mishra also mentioned that AAP Chef Arvind Kejriwal had "cheated" the people, and the people have punished him through the mandate.
"There will be an investigation against the corruption of AAP and Arvind Kejriwal. There has been a decision in the people's court, and soon, there will be a decision in the court of law. Now, there is such a government in Delhi that it does what it says and with this resolve, we are starting today," Mishra added.
Priti Mishra, wife of BJP leader Kapil Mishra said, "I feel so proud. I express gratitude to PM Modi that he has included him (Kapil Mishra) in the team (Council of Ministers in Delhi). Whatever is needed for the development of Delhi will be done...It is all happening with the blessings of the Almighty."
Along with Rekha Gupta, six other ministers, including Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh, will take the oath.
Kapil Mishra emerged victorious in the recent Delhi Assembly elections from the Karawal Nagar seat, defeating the Aam Aadmi Party's candidate, Manoj Tyagi, by a vote margin of over 23,000 votes.
Meanwhile, Rekha Gupta will be the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi. The National Capital has had women Chief Ministers from the BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party. She will succeed Atishi.
An elected MLA from Shalimar Bagh seat, Rekha has served as general secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha in Delhi and as a member of its national executive committee. In these roles, she initiated numerous campaigns for the welfare of marginalized communities and women.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is forming a government in the national capital after 27 years.
BJP won 48 seats out of 70 seats, while Aam Aadmi Party could win only 22 seats in the assembly polls held earlier this month. Congress could not open its account in the third successive election. (ANI)
