"Today is the right time to take POK and make it part of India": Congress MP Gogoi slams Bilawal Zardari's remarks

His remarks came after the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam in which 26 people were killed, after which India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, leading Bhutto to resort to empty rhetoric.

Majuli (Assam) [India], April 26 (ANI): Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Saturday responded to the statement by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) president Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on suspending the Indus Water Treaty, urging the Indian government to respond firmly, asserting that the "time has come to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) and integrate it with India."
Speaking to ANI, Gogoi called for decisive action against Pakistan, declaring that "the time for talks is over."
"I think the time for the Indian government to talk is over, and now the time for action has begun. We want to give a strong reply to the Pakistani army and administration so that they can never repeat what happened in Pahalgam. Today is the right time to take POK and make it a part of India," the Congress MP said.
"In the all-party meeting, we had said that we will support the government in all actions against the Pakistani administration. We have made an additional request regarding an intelligence and security lapse in Pahalgam. Those who have lost their loved ones want justice," Gogoi said.
His remarks came after the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam in which 26 people were killed, after which India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, leading Bhutto to resort to empty rhetoric.
Earlier on Friday, while addressing a public gathering in Sukkur, Zardari stated that just as the PPP did not approve a controversial canal project without consensus, Pakistanis will stand united and give a resounding response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aggression on the Indus River, as reported by Geo News.
"The brave people of Sukkur have sent a clear message by participating in the rally that we will not allow anyone to bargain over the Indus... The Modi government is unilaterally suspending the Indus Water Treaty...but I want to stand by the Indus River in Sukkur and give a clear message to India that the Indus River is ours and will remain ours; either our water will flow from this Indus or your blood," the PPP Chairman said.
