TN Govt. releases Jayalalithaa's medical report to put end to speculations
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Mar. 6 (ANI): With the intention of putting to rest all the speculations over former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa's medical treatment and death, the Tamil Nadu Government on Monday made her medical records public. The letter states all that which occurred from the time Jayalalithaa suffered cardiac arrest till she breathed her last. "It was clinically concluded that there was no heart function and there was also no neurological improvement denoting futility of life support. Hence, after following all procedures the position was conveyed to senior minister and political leaders," the letter stated. "All of them understood the situation and asked the medical team to act as per the standard protocol," the letter further read. The letter also mentioned about the team of doctors, including experts from Apollo and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) assessing her situation.

TN Govt makes Jayalalithaa's medical records public, says did so to put at rest speculation surrounding her hospitilaisation, treatment&death pic.twitter.com/uD5UmyDP6C
— ANI (@ANI_news) March 6, 2017
Tamil Nadu Health Secretary J. Radhakrishnan called the report self-explanatory, adding that no information has been held back. "It is a self-explanatory report. No information has been held back. No basis to hearsay speculations," he told the media here. On request of the Tamil Nadu Government, the AIIMS earlier today handed over former Jayalalithaa's health record to the state's Health Secretary J. Radhakrishnan. The Tamil Nadu Government yesterday rejected former state chief minister O. Panneerselvam's claims on late Jayalalithaa's death. Tamil Nadu Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar accused Panneerselvam of spreading false information among the people regarding the health conditions Jayalalithaa. On February 28, 12 All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) MPs, belonging to the Panneerselvam group, met President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi and handed over a petition seeking a probe into the medical treatment provided to Jayalalithaa before her demise on December 5. The group also sought a probe into the incidents that occurred at Jayalalithaa's Poes Garden residence on September 22 before she was admitted to hospital. (ANI)
