Patna (Bihar) [India], April 29 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Tuesday criticised the Opposition parties and urged national unity in the wake of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.
Speaking to the media, Rai said the terrorists were frustrated following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strong message on the incident.
"The incident of Pahalgam is tragic, and the PM has clearly sent his message on this matter. Due to this, terrorists and their leaders are frustrated. The nation is united at this moment. Through their social media, Congress posts a few things that are not good. In Bihar, RJD is raising objectionable slogans. This is the time for the nation to be together and put an end to terrorist activities," Nityanand Rai said.
Earlier, the Congress had posted an image of PM Modi labelled "Gayab," implying his absence from the recent all-party meeting held after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. The post has drawn sharp criticism from BJP leaders and allies.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal on April 26 put up posters in Patna, Bihar, criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent Bihar visit, saying that while the country mourns, the PM is taking out an election rally, referencing the recent deadly Pahalgam attack.
The posters, put up by RJD member Sanju Kohli, written in Hindi, said, "On one side the country mourns, on the other side there is a rally. The people will remember everything."
The poster also took a sarcastic jibe that the PM should take action against the terrorists as the whole country is behind him, along with pictures of PM Modi sitting down with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, contrasting it with a candlelight march taken out condemning the Pahalgam attack.
The attack in Pahalgam on April 22 is one of the deadliest attacks in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike, in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, India has taken strong measures against Pakistan for its support of cross-border terrorism. (ANI)
