Thousands take part in paramilitary recruitment drive in Rajouri

Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Sept. 23 (ANI): A huge recruitment drive rally was organised in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch by the Border Security Force (BSF), the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on Friday here. Thousands of boys and girls attended the recruitment drive. "There are nearly 1000 vacancies. People from both Rajouri and Poonch are very excited t take part in the recruitment drive. For the first time, even girls are taking part in the recruitment drive. Around 13500 candidates have registered, out of which around 550 are girls. Friday, is the last day of the recruitment and around 6000 candidates have qualified for the written test," Muninder Deep Singh Maan, DIG BSF Sector Headquaters Rajouri and Poonch told ANI. Maan further said that this kind of response from the border districts was not expected and believed it was because of the patriotic feeling that such a huge number of people participated in the recruitment drive. "We just wanted an opportunity to serve the country, want to thank the security forces for holding this camp," said Mohammad Akram a local, who took part in drive. Another local resident, Mohammad Khurshid hope of joining the BSF and bringing glory and respect to the country. (ANI)
