New Delhi [India], February 23 (ANI): Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood on Sunday lashed out at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in a veiled attack, saying that those who have looted the public money will have to return it.
He said that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report would be tabled in the upcoming Delhi assembly session, which begins on February 24.
"As we had declared, we will table the CAG report in the assembly session. Those who have looted the public money will have to return it," Sood told reporters.
Highlighting that the newly formed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Delhi would work on the mantra 'jisne khaya hai use lautana padega', the minister warned the lenter mafia to change its attitude.
"BJP government has been elected in Delhi. This government will work on the mantra of 'jisne khaya hai use lautana padega'. Lenter Mafia ko apni lay, sur aur taal, sab badalna padega (The Lenter mafia will have to change its attitude)," Sood said.
Reacting to former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi's charge regarding power cuts in parts of Delhi, Sood accused her of "lying" and said that power cuts happen every time during this season.
"She is lying. In this season, the power cuts are common so that the power lines can be protected and the troubles to people can be avoided during summers," Sood said.
Sood has been allocated departments in the newly formed BJP government in Delhi: Home, Power, Urban Development, Education, Higher Education, Training, and Technical Education.
This comes after Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the CAG reports would be tabled at the assembly session on Sunday. The Chief Minister accused the previous government of "misusing" people's "hard-earned" money and said that they would have to account for every penny.
The assembly session will commence on February 24. CM Gupta will move a motion to elect BJP MLA Vijender Gupta as the legislative assembly speaker. According to the List of Business, BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa will second the motion.
In the meantime, Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena appointed BJP leader Arvinder Singh Lovely as the protem speaker.
The election of the legislative assembly speaker will be held at 2:00 PM, and the newly elected MLAs will participate in the oath-taking ceremony at 11:00 a.m.
According to the Delhi assembly bulletin, LG Saxena will address the assembly on February 25, after which the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports will be tabled. Later in the day, the assembly will be open for motion of thanks at LG's address. (ANI)
