Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], December 3 (ANI): As Bharatiya Janata Party crossed the halfway mark in Chhattisgarh with its candidates leading in 55 seats, state chief Arun Sao exuded confidence in the party forming the government and said that those who have "looted" the state will not be spared.
Arun Sao said, "The misgovernance of Congress is about to end. The lotus will bloom. Those who have looted the state will not be spared. The (CM) will be decided by the MLAs and the central leadership of the party. Very soon we will form the government in the state."
"Chhattisgarh will move forward on the path of development. Chhattisgarh will get the guarantee of PM Modi. The trends will be converted into reality and we will get more seats than the trends," he added.
Responding to the latest trends, BJP co-in-charge in Chhattisgarh, Nitin Nabin said, "BJP will form the government with a clear majority in Chhattisgarh. The Congress government did the work of looting the people of the state, and the people have replied to this today."
Earlier, while speaking to ANI on the latest trends, former Chief Minister and senior party leader Raman Singh said that there is clear support for the BJP.
"There is clear support for the BJP in trends. The anger of people has been reflected in voting. BJP will form the government in all three states with an absolute majority," Singh said.
As per the latest trends by the ECI, the BJP has crossed the halfway mark of 46 in the 90-member assembly of Chhattisgarh with the party leading in 54 seats while Congress is leading in 33 seats.
The polling in the state was held in two phases.
The first phase was held in 20 constituencies on November 7 with 223 candidates in the contest while the polling in the remaining constituencies with 958 candidates were held in the second phase on November 17.
