Hubballi (Karnataka) [India], March 15 (ANI): Union Minister Pralhad Joshi hit out at the Congress on Thursday, saying that the grand old party 'only made slogans'.
He also highlighted the central schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Labelling the members of the Congress as 'liars' and 'cheaters', the Union Minister said, "Those in Congress are liars and cheaters and can only raise slogans. Today, PM Modi has introduced various schemes for the people. Even the world has come to accept that the Modi administration will continue and the country will become the world's third-biggest economy."
Addressing the OBC Morcha meeting in Karnataka's Hubballi on Thursday, Joshi said several central government schemes, including PM Kisan Samman and the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, among others, have contributed to making the people self-reliant.
"As much as 63 per cent of people, belonging to OBC, SC and ST, are among the targeted beneficiaries of the Kisan Samman Scheme. It was the Modi government that raised the OBC reservation limit from Rs. 8 lakh to 12 lakh. Of the 35 crore beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, more than 50 per cent are SCs and STs," he said.
"The overall impact of these schemes is that the people have become self-reliant. Institutions such as the IMF (International Monetary Fund) have agreed that more than 25 crore people have come out of (extreme) poverty. The Congress raised the 'Garibi Hatao' slogan in the 70s and even today, they are chanting the same," he added. (ANI)
