Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], April 23 (ANI): Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday expressed shock over Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's remarks on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Lashing out at Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for attacking Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Tharoor said, "The level of attacking a leader of your ally, I think is most deplorable, they (CPI(M)) are supposed to be attacking the BJP as we're supposed to be attacking the BJP...all they're doing is attacking Congress and its leaders like Rahul Gandhi. This is shocking."
He further said, "I would urge CM to cool down and rethink what exactly is he trying to do in this campaign. We have a common target and we need to change the govt in Delhi and that's where all of us must be focused..."
As the voting day in Kerala for the 2024 election nears, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan earlier continued his attack against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him a non-serious and immature politician.
"Many times when serious political developments happened in the Country, Rahul Gandhi was not here. It is the experience of the people in the country that he is not a serious politician. We refrained from commenting on it because he is from another party and it is their internal issue. But during the time of the general election, coming here and making comments in support of central investigation agencies is highly immature," Vijayan said during a press conference here.
Congress candidate from Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor and party leader Sachin Pilot on Tuesday launched the 'Scan me' campaign.
Taking to social media platform X, Shashi Tharoor wrote, "Delighted to be joined on the campaign trail by my good friend Sachin Pilot, who has spent the last few days effectively & powerfully campaigning across the state on behalf of the party. He joined us for the inauguration of the 'Scan Me' campaign."
Tharoor further stated that the 'Scan me' campaign is an innovative initiative that utilises Augmented Reality technology to spread the message of the campaign across a larger audience and will also be doing a few campaign events in Neyyattinkara later today.
Meanwhile, Sachin Pilot posted on X, "Kick-started the 'Scan Me' campaign for Dr Shashi Tharoor to reach out to the young voters of Thiruvananthapuram. Tharoor has served his parliamentary seat with utmost dedication and integrity. Your vote will ensure that under his leadership and vision, the constituency continues to prosper and progress Vote for NYAY, Vote for Congress."
Notably, Shashi Tharoor is in the electoral fray against BJP's Rajeev Chandrasekhar from the Thiruvananthapuram seat in the Lok Sabha elections.
All 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in Kerala will vote in a single phase on April 26. Counting will be held on June 4. (ANI)
