Farrukhabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 4 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that those who talk about 'jihad' should know that India is the land of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, this is not the land of 'jihad.'
Addressing a public meeting in favour of Farrukhabad MP and BJP candidate Mukesh Rajput, the Chief Minister said, "The voice of the echoes are so strong that those who looted the rights of people when they had the opportunity, they did not spare specially-abled people either, now, they are remembering about 'jihad'. This land is of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, this is not the land of 'jihad'..."
Emphasising his Lok Sabha poll campaign carried out at multiple places, he said, "I have just come from Mahakaal in Madhya Pradesh. I have visited nine states for election campaigning."
Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, he said, "Phir ek baar Modi sarkar, and we will bring those who brought Lord Ram (Jo Ram ko layer ai hum unko laaenge)."
Yogi Adityanath slammed the Congress manifesto, alleging that it discussed the imposition of 'jizya' (a tax from medieval India imposed on non-Muslims), and advocated for cow slaughter, drawing parallels to the rule of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
CM Adityanath accused the Congress of intending to revoke quota benefits for SC, STs, and OBCs to appease its vote bank.
Notably, Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for another round of voting as the third phase of the ongoing general elections approaches. Scheduled for May 7, this phase will see ten Lok Sabha constituencies heading to the polls. These include Sambhal, Hathras, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Badaun, Bareilly, and Aonla. (ANI)
