"This is Abua government": Kalpana Soren after JMM-led alliance's win in Jharkhand

She emphasized that the government is truly "of the people", highlighting Hemant Soren's dedication to serving the state.

Giridih (Jharkhand) [India], November 23 (ANI): As the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led Mahagathbandhan is poised to retain the power in the state, party candidate from Gandey and Chief Minister Hemant Soren's wife, Kalpana Soren on Saturday expressed her gratitude towards the people for their overwhelming support.
She emphasized that the government is truly "of the people", highlighting Hemant Soren's dedication to serving the state.
"This government is the Abua government, this government is the government of the people of Jharkhand. The people have expressed their unwavering faith in Hemant Soren. The way Hemant ji was serving Jharkhand earlier as a son, as a brother, now in the coming times, he will work even harder than that," Kalpana told ANI.
According to the latest data by the Election Commission of India, Kalpana is leading on the seat against BJP's Muniya Devi by a margin of over 16, 960 votes.
The JMM has won 22 seats and is leading on 12 seats till 6:45 pm, Congress won 11 seats and is leading on 5 seats, RJD won 2 and is leading on 2 seats, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) - CPI(ML)(L) won 2 seats. As per the trends, the BJP has won 15 seats and has taken the lead on 6 seats, its alliance partners AJSU, JD(U) and LJP (RV) have won 1 seat each.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janta Party's Jharkhand election in-charge, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday expressed sorrow over NDA trailing behind INDIA alliance in the state.
Taking to social media X, Sarma wrote, "The loss in Jharkhand is deeply painful for me personally, even though we secured victory in all five by-elections in Assam. I have witnessed the unwavering dedication and relentless efforts of our Karyakartas in Jharkhand, who gave their all in this election,"
Sarma reaffirmed that BJP fought Jharkhand election to lead it on the path of development, fulfilling the aspirations of students and youth. He "humbly" accepted the defeat.
"We fought with a vision to protect the state from infiltration and to lead it on the path of development, fulfilling the aspirations of students and youth. However, we must humbly accept the mandate of the people, for that is the true essence of democracy. In these challenging times, we will stand firmly with our Karyakartas, offering them unwavering support and solidarity," Sarma said on X.
Sarma congratulated Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and its chief Hemant Soren for receiving people's mandate in the election.
"JMM and its allies have secured an impressive victory in Jharkhand. My heartfelt congratulations to Shri @HemantSorenJMM and his entire team on this achievement. I am confident that under his leadership, Jharkhand will embark on a path of progress and development," Sarma said.
In the 2019 elections, the JMM won 30 seats, the BJP 25, and Congress 16 seats. (ANI)
